Merry Christmas Eve!!
I just finished about a 25 hour overnight run from Turtle Bay to Punta Abreojos. The sunrise was lovely and was a little bit of compensation for standing off the point for a couple hours until the sun was up and I could make a visual approach. The guide boook talks about 2 shoal/shallow/rock areas on the path into the anchorage but only 1 of them was reflected on any of my electronic charts. So rather than try to come in while it was dark I have to and waited for some light.
I never saw the rocks/shallows but came into what is called the "quieter" anchorage which is a little more protected from the wind and waves as it is just around the corner from the village in another bay.
All I have planned here is a good nights sleep or 2, and maybe a shore trip to look for a battery....still. But I suspect that might have to wait until next week. I have to navigate out of this anchorage, and into Mag Bay. Then from Mag Bay I'm going straight down to Cabo San Lucas area to anchor for a couple days where I should be able to take my dinghy in to shore and see about a proper battery to replace the one that I think is bad on the engine.
Then on January 4th I will be pulling into the Marina Puerto Los Cabos in San Jose Del Cabo (right by the Cabo airport). It is a relatively short bus/taxi into Cabo San Lucas and is supposed to have a couple restaurants and shops/etc right at or near the marina.
I hope everyone is where they want to be to enjoy the holidays!! I know I am!!! Merry Christmas all!!!
