Arrived at Cabo!!

It was a relatively long 53 hours or so from Punta Abreojos to Cabo San Lucas.  The last 5 hours or so, when I could see the point and knew that was the end, seemed ESPECIALLY LONG!

It was a pretty good run.  Mostly the wind and seas were on the stern quarter.  Yesterday there was almost no wind during the day and it was sunny and calm. The wind started to pick up and moved more directly abeam with the swell and blew 15-20 and gusting to 25 from about 11 pm to 5 am or so. Then it dropped back off as the sun came up and today has been lovely rounding the point and anchoring in the harbor outside the marina.

Going around the arches at the point was very cool.  There was also a pod of dolphin that escorted me for 15-20 minutes yesterday.  Some even did the sea world style jump straight out of the water out in front of the boat.  If I would have had a sardine they might have taken it from my hand!

I also saw a whale spout this morning coming into the harbor from amidst a flock of tourist glass bottom whale watching boats. Yesterday I saw what I believe was a fairly large shark on the surface.  I could see the dorsal fin and a sweeping tail fin just for a moment before it swam under.

I'm going to stay on the boat for at least a couple of tide shifts to make sute my anchor is set well. I think it is fine, but it will be good to see how the daily wind/tide changes affect it before I go adventuring off away from the boat in search of a start battery!

For right now I believe I have earned a swim! The thermometer says it is about 76F.  That's an improvement over Catalina!
